Industry7 places sustainability at the forefront of our design and procurement processes. We are committed to delivering the best possible outcomes while maintaining a lighter footprint on the planet.
Wherever possible, our design team selects products with high or 100% recycled content, or those with low embodied energy, helping to reduce the overall carbon footprint of each project.
We have also been actively separating our waste stream and recycling as much as possible for many years to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill. Through these ongoing efforts, we have successfully reduced landfill waste to around 30% of all waste generated during construction.
We make these choices not for marketing purposes, but because we genuinely value sustainability and protecting the environment. Building sustainably isn’t more difficult – it’s about making conscious decisions and ensuring sustainable practices become the standard.
We also work closely with sustainability partners who help us increase recycling outcomes and source products that meet our recycled content and low-carbon criteria.
Industry 7 recently collaborated with Interface to increase the life cycle of some of their carpet tiles from a recent project at Gasworks in Brisbane.
Our sustainability process has evolved at Industry 7, and we can now ensure more Interface carpet can re-enter the world, and avoid being sent to landfill.
This process doesn’t cost any more money during deconstruction, we just take a little more care and ensure the product is kept in good condition and stored ready for transport.
This is good for the environment, the landlord and potentially the new steward of the carpet to provide an even lower carbon footprint and reduce waste.
