Industry 7 was appointed to deliver a full internal demolition and fitout for the Department of Transport, transforming an ageing tenancy into a modernised public service environment. The works were delivered under a tightly scoped programme, incorporating government specifications, staged revisions, and stakeholder-led design adjustments throughout.
The project commenced with extensive demolition of all floor finishes, ceiling systems, partition walls, redundant services, and existing joinery. New partition walls, ceilings, flooring, and cabinetry were constructed throughout, including purpose-built reception counters, staff kitchenettes, meeting rooms, and camera and testing booths. Acoustic wall treatments and commercial-grade finishes were integrated to ensure compliance and functionality within a high-traffic, operational tenancy.
The fitout included major upgrades to essential services. Electrical works incorporated over 80 power points, new data and comms infrastructure, AV systems, and security integration, including swipe access, alarm systems, and a full CCTV network. Fire services were modified and certified, while plumbing included rough-in and fit-off for new kitchen services and TMV installation in line with council requests.
Joinery was designed and constructed to match architectural plans issued for similar DTMR projects, with a full suite of custom cabinetry, integrated storage, workstations, and concierge elements. Multiple variations were managed throughout delivery, including furniture procurement, revised paint finishes, additional doors, upgraded fire services, and various layout changes.
Despite the scale and evolving scope, Industry 7 managed the full fitout to programme, with noisy or disruptive works scheduled outside trading hours and certification issued upon completion.
